Your NBI clearance expires one year from issuance. Renewal is simpler than initial application and can be done entirely online in 3-7 business days. Renew early to ensure continuous validity for employment, travel, and official transactions.
Renewal Eligibility
You can renew your NBI clearance if:
- Your previous clearance was issued after 2014
- You have your old NBI clearance number or certificate
- Your personal information (name, birthday) hasn’t changed
- You’re renewing within 1 year of expiration (can renew 1-2 months before)
Renewal Fees
- Standard Renewal: ₱245-₱295
- Express Renewal: ₱500+ (optional faster service)
- Certified Copies: ₱50-₱100 per copy
Quick Renewal Process (Online)
- Go to https://onlinenbiclearance.ph/
- Log in with your existing account (create if needed)
- Select ‘Renewal Application’ from menu
- Enter your old NBI clearance number
- Upload scanned copy of old NBI certificate
- Provide old NBI reference number
- Confirm personal information is unchanged
- Choose your preferred NBI office
- Select appointment date
- Upload valid ID copy and new passport photo
- Take updated selfie with valid ID
- Make payment (₱245 online)
- Receive confirmation email
- Wait 3-7 business days
- Pickup at NBI office or receive by mail
Renewal vs New Application
- Renewal: Faster (3-5 days), requires old clearance number
- New Application: Slower (5-7 days), for lost certificates or changed info
- Cost: Same fee for both (₱245-₱295)
- Processing: Renewal slightly faster than first-time
If You Lost Your Old Certificate
You can still renew if you have:
- Your old NBI reference number
- Documentation from NBI confirming previous issuance
- Or apply for NEW clearance instead of renewal
